Photo ID
Wisconsin residents are required to show proof of identification in order to obtain a ballot, both at the polls and by absentee. In most cases, this will be a Wisconsin driver's license or Wisconsin issued identification card.
There are several other documents that will also work.
Please refer to https://bringit.wi.gov/ for further information about Photo ID.
Photo ID requirements are different than proof of residence requirements. Your driver's license does not have to have your current address for use as Photo ID.
You can obtain a free State ID card for voting purposes through the Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles. More information on how to obtain a free state ID card for voting purposes can be found at https://bringit.wi.gov/how-do-i-get-free-state-id-card.
